Making A-B Affordable

Filing for Financial AidDetermining how to pay for college can be a stressful and trying event. Alderson-Broaddus offers many financial opportunities to make our degrees affordable ranging from academic, music, and athletic scholarships to need based programs such as the Pell Grant, Work Program, and other self-help resources.

To be considered for financial aid, a student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application should be completed as soon as possible after January 1 to be considered for financial assistance the following year. For example, if you are a senior in high school this year, you should complete the FAFSA in January for the academic year 2008-2009. Complete the FAFSA on-line for quicker and more accurate results.

Be sure to list A-B as a recipient of your FAFSA results. Our title IV code number is 003806. Once we receive the results, and you have been admitted to the College, our financial aid office will be able to determine how much total aid you qualify for.

Wondering what types and amounts of financial aid you would be eligible for earlier than waiting for the FAFSA results? Then take advantage of the Early Estimator Program offered by the Financial Aid staff at Alderson-Broaddus College. You can get a financial aid estimate by completing and submitting the student aid estimator to the Admissions Office here at the College.

We strive to make an Alderson-Broaddus education as affordable as possible. We also encourage you to take advantage of free scholarship searches like FastWeb.com. However, beware of scholarship searches that charge you money – they could be a scam.

To find out more about how to make A-B affordable, schedule a visit to the college by calling the admissions office at 1-800-263-1549.
