Campus Activities Board

College isn’t all about classes and hitting the books. If it was, people wouldn’t commonly refer to it as the best four (or sometimes five) years of your life. While going to class and earning your degree should be your top priority, it is important to squeeze in some good, clean, healthy fun every now and then. This is the purpose of the Campus Activities Board or CAB as it is more fondly known.

CAB’s driver is Roxanne Bright, who is known for having similar tastes as students, which gives her insight into what students will truly enjoy during their college ride. She’s also genuinely enthusiastic bout the pit stops she provides for students. Roxanne is all about fun, so let’s take a tour through some activities and see what you have to look forward to at Alderson-Broaddus College.

CAB’s first stop every year is Things-You-Left-Behind Bingo. Stop the CAB, Bingo is for little old ladies in church basements, right? Not anymore it isn’t! Ten rounds of intense bingo with prizes such as lamps, alarm clocks and a laundry basket filled with detergent and quarters, doesn’t get any crazier than this! Bingo has become so popular that CAB has added two other versions-- Welcome Back Bingo and Last Bash Bingo. These feature prizes such as board games, sleds and digital cameras. For all three versions of this campus favorite, the cover all, grand prize is a hot big ticket item. In the past, such prizes have been things like a Nintendo Wii and an Xbox 360! Welcome to Collegiate Bingo!

Other stops CAB makes for students include: Antique Photos, Stuff Your Own Bear, Thinkfast Game Show, Photo Dry Erase Boards, Laser Tag and many more. CAB has also hosted Lip Sync Idol and invented their own game show titled “Q”. With such a variety of activities, everyone can have fun!

CAB’s final stop at the end of the year is Final Fling-- four hours of fun! Remember when you were little and played on the inflatable game at fairs and carnivals? Who says you can’t do that now? Obstacle courses, moon bounces, and giant slides are just some of the activities during Final Fling. Coupled with snocones and cotton candy, it is one fabulous way to relax after a busy year.

So hail the CAB and climb on in because the destination is fun and the fare is free! If you have any questions or requests about these or other campus activities at A-B, please contact your admissions counselor or Roxanne Bright at brightrl@ab.edu.
